Accel Research Sites COVID-19 vaccine participant interviewed by News 6 in Orlando

Now that Moderna and Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines are approved, participants in the studies are being unblinded.

They are finding out if they received the vaccine or the placebo. One study participant, Kathleen Arthur, recently found out she was in the placebo group and was able to receive the vaccine through Accel.

WKMG News 6 in Orlando spoke with Arthur and lead investigator Dr. Bruce Rankin about how the trials helped advance science and what needs researchers still have.
