Accel Research Sites CEO honored among Orlando Magazine Women of the Year
Lora Parahovnik took the helm of Accel Research Sites in the middle of the pandemic.
She rallied her team to launch more than 30 COVID-related clinical trials, enroll more than 3,500 patients and triple the company’s business. Now, Parahovnik is adding another honor to her list of accomplishments—Woman of the Year.
Parahovnik, Accel Research Sites’ CEO, was recognized as one of Orlando Magazine’s 2022 Women of the Year for her leadership and dedication to the Central Florida community and beyond.
“I’m incredibly honored to be recognized by Orlando Magazine among this incredible list of women leaders,” Parahovnik said. “All of the women honored alongside me inspire me with their perseverance and commitment to making the world a better place in their own unique way.”
The 2022 Orlando Magazine Women of the Year awards recognize 24 Central Florida women for their commitment to making their community and the world around them a better place. The women honored range from educators and physicians to entrepreneurs and activists. Honorees are nominated by Orlando Magazine readers and are selected by Orlando Magazine.
Parahovnik’s selection feature calls out her leadership in the pandemic, as well as her unique background in both scientific research and executive leadership in the clinical trial industry. In addition, Parahovnik is an adjunct professor at Valencia College and volunteers at an assisted living center and with a teen entrepreneurship program.
The 24 women recognized are honored in the May 2022 issue of Orlando Magazine. The 2022 Women of the Year recognition ceremony took place Monday, May 23, 2022, at the Citrus Club in Orlando.
